These readings are for Epiphany, January 6, which usually falls on a weekday. Many church traditions that do not have weekday services observe Epiphany the Sunday before January 6 or the first Sunday in January, while others observe it on the Sunday following. These readings can replace the regular lectionary readings on either Sunday to observe Epiphany.

In 2013 Epiphany falls on a Sunday. If Epiphany is NOT observed this Sunday, Readings for Christmas 2 can be used.
